Band Discussion
a) Purpose
The purpose of this social media is to bring together music lovers and help bands find members and venues to play at. It will also allow users to search for available gig tickets and also sell tickets they no longer want as a transaction feature will be available on the website.
b) Format/style
The format will follow a similar layout to Facebook, with each member having a profile including a photo, location and a small biography. Their likes and interests will also be shown, such as specific bands or genres and also which instruments they can play, if they can play any. The site will also feature an instant messaging system allowing users to talk to people either individually or in a grouped chat.
c) Target users/membership
The audience for this social media site is definitely younger people as it is for those who are just starting out in bands and are quite possibly fairly new to certain instruments. It's a great way for less well known bands to create a following and advertise events they will play at. Also, outings to gigs and musical events are very popular amongst the age group of around 15-25 as it is a great way to socialise and meet new people who enjoy similar music, especially during free time and after college/university/studying. The site will be free to use, as revenue will be created from companies advertising on there, this includes particular venues such as the O2 Arena, or businesses such as Dawsons which specialise in guitars.

a) Purpose
The purpose of this social media is to allow users to share their artwork and view other peoples', it'll also be a collaborative space allowing people to work together on various projects. Another function will allow users to commission jobs from artists and transactions will be made through the site.
b) Format/style
This website will look and function similarly to DeviantArt, with a home page featuring recent and popular artworks and projects, users can then comment on the work and interact with the artists. It will also feature a search option to find specific people and styles of art that appeal most to the user and like Pinterest it will contain a system where members can save certain artists or work to their own personal 'notice board' to come back to in the future.
c) Target Users/membership
The target users for this social media would be younger artists aged around 16-30 that maybe just starting out or working as a freelance artist alongside another job or study. It is also aimed at users who wish to purchase or commission work which could be anyone from an young school-aged individual to as large team of older clients. It is simply designed for any person who enjoys creating art or viewing/purchasing art or both. It will be free to use the basic features of the site as a casual member, however it will also be possible to pay for a 'gold' membership which will allow the user to appear more often on the site and offer exclusive services such as printing their artwork to sell. This printing service will be another way this site will generate revenue; as it will partner up with an art printing company that will share some of the profit made within the site.
d) Initial mockup
Dogs!
The purpose of this social media site is to bring users together through a mutual love of dogs; it'll be used to arrange dog walks and meet ups between dog owners. If, for some unfortunate reason a user does not have a dog, it can also double up as a dog walking service where users can arrange to walk another persons' dog for them.
b) Format/style
The format of this site will be a combination of both Facebook and Scrava, with each user having a personal profile and the ability to share routes and areas with fellow dog walkers. The home screen will consist of a timeline showing what walks and events are happening in the user's area and it'll allow them to communicate together and arrange walks.
c) Target users/membership
There is no real limit to which kind of person this site appeals to as it is for anyone with a love of dogs, whether that be a 10 year-old boy or an elderly woman, this site is for everyone. In particular this could be described as being aimed at middle aged people as they are most likely be the ones out walking their dog(s) while also wanting to socialise. It will also be useful for older people who may not be able to walk their dog anymore so need someone to help out. This social media will be free to use as revenue will come from adverts within the site from companies providing items and services linked to dogs such as Pets At Home and The Bark Club which provide a dog grooming service.
